Caledon OPP Raises Money for Caledon\Dufferin Victim Services
Nov 16, 2018
(Caledon, ON) – On September 20, 2018 Caledon OPP hosted their 4th annual golf tournament at the Glen Eagle Golf Club within the Town of Caledon. Every year, a different cause or organization is selected to receive a donation of all of the funds raised through the golf tournament.
This year, as a result of the participation, generous support, and donations from our community partners, local businesses, residents and police officers, the golf event was able to raise over $14,000 to benefit Caledon\Dufferin Victim Services.
Executive Director of Caledon\Dufferin Victim Services, Dorothy Davis, had the following to state about the donation: “Caledon\Dufferin Victim Services (CDVS) wishes to extend its heartfelt thanks to the Caledon OPP for selecting CDVS as the recipient of the proceeds of their 2018 Charity Golf Tournament. By championing the valuable work that Caledon\Dufferin Victim Services performs, you have demonstrated your support of the men and women who willingly respond to the thousands of criminal and tragic situations that occur in our community each year. Your invaluable contribution will further ensure that the agency continues to offer optimum training and professional development to the volunteer sector so that they can assist their fellow community members’ deal with an extensive variety of traumatic and grievous situations. The funds will also support the practical needs of clients currently accessing services, while also contributing to outreach efforts ensuring those in need of support, information and referrals are aware of the programs that CDVS offers.”
A heartfelt thank you to all of those who supported and participated in this fabulous event!

We would like to acknowledge that the land on which we gather is the traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee, Iroquois, Ojibway/Chippewa, Anishinabek, the Metis, and most recently, the territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit River. This Territory is covered by the Upper Canada Treaties and the Haldimand Treaty. We are grateful to live and work on this land. The territory was the subject of the Dish With One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant, an agreement between the Iroquois Confederacy and the Ojibwe and allied nations to peaceably share and care for the resources around the Great Lakes.
